Happy New Year!
2021 hasn’t quite started as I had planned, with Covid-19 hitting the Redfearn-Hunt household. New Year’s Eve was spent like no other – trying to keep our eyes open while huddled under a blanket on the sofa!
Thank goodness for such a lovely set of liveries who have mucked in (and out, quite literally!) to help while I have been in isolation. Not to mention my wonderful family, who had hoped to take more of a backseat this year, but have actually ended up holding the fort! Thanks to them I have been able to relax, knowing the horses were in good hands.
Last year saw the start of my new business whilst I also worked as a secondary school teacher. In hindsight, the lockdown was actually a blessing in disguise for me as it gave me time to lay the foundations of my new business. By July, I was in a position to hand my notice in and was able to leave that job to begin working for myself full time at the end of October. It has been full on since then, with a yard full of liveries and teaching and riding in all my spare time! I have been incredibly lucky to have such lovely customers from the off, with fantastic horses to boot.
I achieved a lot of what I set out to do in 2020. Going into 2021, I’ve set myself some lofty goals and, despite the slow start, once my isolation period is over I’m excited to get stuck into them!
Keep an eye out for Sadie in the Saddle in 2021, even if it is just me running around in my new merch…
